A bronze figure of Maitreya
Thailand, Mon-Dvaravati period, 7th century
Standing in samapada on a double-lotus base with his right hand raised in vitarkamudra and his left holding the water pot, dressed in a diaphanous sampot secured at the waist with a fishtail pleat, adorned with the sacred thread and necklace, the face with wide features flanked by pendulous earlobes, the hair in a topknot secured with a stupa finial
