A ceremonial sword within a silver, gilt, and inlaid scabbard
Tibet, 18th century
The sword with double-edged blade affixed to a gilt sword guard decorated with scrolling lions and a hilt incised with birds and inlaid with coral and turquoise; the scabbard with loop rings supported by a gilt makara, gilt fittings with fanciful dragons and inlaid with coral and hardstones, the sides with lightly incised foliate detail in silver
