Lot Essay

The Farm Palace Service was commissioned by Grand Duke Alexander Nikolaevich, the future Emperor Alexander II, for the Palace in the Alexandria Park, Peterhof. Additions were made after the Grand Duke succeeded to the throne as Alexander II in 1855.
