A 19th-Century French brass and walnut Pixii-pattern vacuum pump table,
signed Pixii Père et Fils Rue de Grenelle StGermain No18 A PARIS, with double mahogany pumping handle, glass vacuum tubes showing the ratchet action, brass release handle marked R, O and F, double mercury pressure gauge mounted on a steel scale within a domed glass tube, and a 8½in. dia. glass-covered vacuum table, mounted on a walnut table with drawer and square-section legs with a platform between near the base; with a 17.8cm. (7in.) diameter flat-topped bell jar with facet-cut handle (much cracked and repaired) (2)
