Surmounted by a gilt-decorated vase with twin mermaid-cast handles, the vase painted with a figure of Venus and her attendant, raised on a rectangular pedestal centred on the front with a circular dial painted with cloud-borne putti, signed F. BARBEDIENNE. PARIS, the sides each with a porcelain plaque painted with tropies within a swagged encadrement, on porcelain toupie feet
