A GHURID CARVED TERRACOTTA PANEL
HERAT, EARLY 13TH CENTURY
Of rectangular form with a carved register of large tri-lobed palmettes interspersed with smaller fleur de lys surrounded by scrolling vine, the large palmettes and the vine leaves with stamped triangular lattice pattern, set inside a double solid border on each side, top right-hand corner set at a slight angle, mounted on rectangular polished metal base
22 x 10¼ x 2¾in. (56 x 26 x 7cm.)
