A SMALL INDO-PORTUGUESE IVORY-INLAID MOSAIC CABINET
NORTH-WEST INDIA, 17TH CENTURY
Of rectangular form resting on four animal-form legs, with nine drawers fitted with brass hanging knops with rosette surrounds, one key-hole set in floral openwork brass fitting, the front divided into twelve panels, each in three square sections with two octagonal geometric medallions on either side, centre with smaller geometric mosaic, all surrounded by thin band of geometric mosaic strapwork, set inside ribbed dark stained wooden frame, the top with inset ivory mosaic panels and rosettes, a curved handle on each side set inside ivory inlaid diamond-shaped frame, in very good condition
