Prayers, Arabic manuscript on buff paper, 53ff. plus 5 fly-leaves, each folio with 9ll. arranged with 3ll. of black thuluth script between two panels each with 3ll. of smaller naskh script, titles and important phrases picked out in red and blue, opening folio with gold and polychrome later illuminated headpiece and lines of thuluth script in clouds reserved against lightly hatched and floral ground, colophon signed Nurullah bin Husayn al-Tuni and dated 729, fly-leaves at the end with notes and prayers of later owner's, some staining and scuffing, in brown morocco with central stamped medallions, grey floral paper doublures

Lot Essay

There are additional prayers added at the end of this manuscript by 'Ali bin Muhammad al-Husayni for the owner of the manuscript Haji Husayn Bika in AH [1]148/1735-36 AD.
