Lot Essay

The author of the Qasida, on which this manuscript is a Persian commentary, is Ibn Farid, an Arab poet of Cairo (d. AH 632/1235 AD). A note on the first colophon of the manuscript says that it is in the hand of the author, Sa'in al-Din 'Ali bin Afdal al-Din Muhammad bin Sadr al-Din Muhammad, known as Tarka. The second colophon gives no name or date, but is finished in the same hand.

The manuscript has a round Aqquyunlu seal impression with the date AH 867 (1462-63 AD).
