Lot Essay

PRESENTATION COPY OF THE LARGE-PAPER ISSUE, out-of-series and in a possibly unique presentation binding. Hopkinson notes that 'a few' large-paper copies were specially prepared for Robert Clark for presentation purposes. These are described as having a signed photograph of Robert Clark bound in after the title rather than as a frontispiece. The adoption of an additional title is not mentioned. Nor is the use of a luxury binding. The Ortiz-Patiño copy also differs in not having 'Presentation copy' printed on the title verso. Hopkinson p. 44; Murdoch 128.
