Château Latour--Vintage 1919
Pauillac, 1er cru classé
Very bin-soiled labels one of which is torn. Levels: one just below top, one upper and one mid-shoulder
Tasting note: The 1919 Latour opened recently at the Chteau was really surprisingly youthful. In spite of its mahogany color, the noise retained vestiges of a sweet, plum and fig fruit with great complexity of tar, roast meat, and black truffle aromas. On the palate this is still a powerful wine, with body, structure and length all very much intact. Given the tepid reputation of the vintage, this absolutely floored me. Wow!" At the estate, Charles Curtis M.W., March 2011
