Finely inlaid in silver, copper and shakudo with a dragonfly hovering above flowering omadaka on a deep reddish patinated ground
16cm. high

Lot Essay

Jomi Eisuke (1839-1900), the winner of many prizes at both domestic and International expositions for his varied style of manufacture and range of coloured metal alloys used. These included the silver medal at Paris in 1878 and the gold medal in 1888. He is thought to have studied under the early Meiji era metalworker Kanaya Gorosaburo.
