Raised cast seal Seisai chu, Meiji Period (late 19th century)
The rounded square body of archaic form with applied handles on four long legs elaborately decorated with dragon heads and further dragons coiled around each leg, on a stepped base with four sculpted feet, the body carved, chased and engraved with an archaic style geometric pattern and with an inset panel cast in high relief with a rakkan and oni, eyes inlaid in gilt, the cover with finial in the form of two kirin
