20 volumes, small 2o (321 x 206 mm). 119 pen-and-ink drawings by H.C. Green and P. Valois, 262 hand-colored engraved plates (some inlaid or mounted), 10 black and white engraved mounted plates, numerous watercolor drawings on text leaves, titles printed in red and black, half titles. (Very few leaves with a few spots, some offsetting from the watercolor illustrations.) 20th century green crushed levant morocco, covers with elaborately gilt border with dark green, red, salmon, ivory and plum morocco onlays surrounding a navy and teal morocco and gilt onlay portrait of Shakespeare, spine in 6 compartments with 5 raised bands, gilt-lettered in two, others with ornamental floral and leaf designs, doublures with large teal onlay gilt, with purple and red onlay flowers surrounding a central panel with an oil painting, each different and depicting a character or scene from Shakespeare's works, watered-silk free end papers, top edges gilt by The Adams Bindery.
