VINTAGE COMPARISON: 82 AND 83 MARGAUX
Château Margaux--Vintage 1982
Margaux, 1er cru classé
Lot 52 levels: eleven bottom neck, one very top shoulder; one lightly torn label
Lot 53 levels: ten bottom neck or better, one very top shoulder; one very slight signs of old seepage
"The 1982 Margaux was for me the wine of the night at a recent tasting. There was still plenty of forward, primary plum and blackcurrant fruit on the nose with only the first hints of more developed, moture aromas. On the palate the wine had a really lush density and wonderful length. The texture was soft and round, but the wine certainly did not lack structure. Impressive! This will last for decades to come."
