A PAINTED ENAMEL HANDWARMER AND COVER
18TH CENTURY
Of elongated octagonal shape, four sides painted with blue-bordered rectangular panels depicting birds and insects in flight amongst flowers beside rockwork, surrounded by composite foliate scrolls interspersed with pink bats reserved on a yellow ground, with a pierced gilt-copper cover similarly decorated, gilt metal handle.
6½ in. (16.5 cm.) long
