MARKED FRIEDRICH KOECHLI, ST PETERSBURG, CIRCA 1890
Rectangular with rounded corners, the body chased overall with reeding and gilt bands forming a cross, the upper left corner of the cover set with the gilt Imperial double-headed eagle centring a cabochon sapphire, with cabochon sapphire push-piece, gilt interior, the inside cover inscribed in Swedish 'Gafva af H. M. Kejsar Alexander III. till Axel J. Andsten. den 17 Juli 1891.', marked inside cover and base; together with certificate of bestowal from the Imperial Cabinet, dated 4 April 1896
