Lot Essay

This model of chocolate-pot was first exhibited at the 1900 Paris exhibition where it was described as being one of the most successful objects to be seen there (A. Krekel-Aalberse, Art Nouveau and Art Deco Silver, New York, 1989, p. 64). Other examples of it are known including one in the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris, another at the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam and a further example illustrated A.
