CHÂTEAU LA MISSION HAUT-BRION
La Mission Haut-Brion has 21 hectares of vines planted with 48 Cabernet Sauvignon, 45 Merlot and 7 Cabernet Franc. Since 1983 both La Mission Haut-Brion and Haut-Brion have been owned by the Dillon family. The grapes are hand-harvested and sorted in the vineyard on mobile sorting tables. The wine is fermented in temperature-controlled, stainless steel vats at an average temperature of 30 degrees and then matured in oak barriques (100 new) for 18 to 22 months. Annual production is approximately 100,000 bottles.

"A wonderful effort, the 2006 La Mission Haut-Brion shows very nice ripeness of licorice-scented black fruit yet a bit of restraint and good balance. On the palate the wine is silky, and supple yet firmly tannic, with structure to last for years. Bravo. Great wine. At the Annual MW Claret Tasting, November, 2010"
