Représenté assis en padmasana sur un socle lotiforme portant une inscription donnant son nom, la main droite en varadamudra, la gauche posée sur sa cuisse supportant le kalasha, deux tiges de lotus fleurissant le long de ses bras, vêtu de la robe monastique finement incisée de rinceaux fleuris, le visage serein, portant la barbe, traces de dorure, scellée

Lot Essay

He was the third throne holder of the Sakya order and a great master. He wrote many sutras and tantras that formed the basis for the Sakya lineage. Like lot 364 depicting the same teacher, he is here as well depicting with balding head, trimmed beard and moustache.
