A LATE 19TH CENTURY SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND PENDANT BROOCH
Of openwork shield design, the central cushion shaped sapphire and old-cut diamond cluster within the similarly-cut diamond pierced scrolling foliate surround and further line border, with diamond bow surmount, mounted in silver and gold, circa 1890, 5.6cm long, one diamond deficient, with fitted case
Accompanied by report no.05546 dated 24 April 2012 from The Gem & Pearl Laboratory, London, stating the sapphire is of Sri Lankan origin and bears no signs of heat treatment
