Each of baluster form, flanked by upright scroll handles centering flower-head roundels and with acanthus terminals, painted with a Paris street scene, identified above as either Boulevard de Bonne Nouvelle or Boulevard des Capucines, the reverse with a chased gilt medallion of either a putto embracing a lion or a putto coaxing a bird, on a conforming socle and square base
