Lot Essay

A panel with the coat of arms of William IV within the Garter and that of his consort Adelaide of Saxe-Meiningen, enclosed within a decorative circlet of oak leaves, supported by a lion and unicorn, in front of a robe of estate, and ensigned by a royal crown. The royal badges of rose and thistle portrayed in a natural manner beneath the arms.
