A Ralph Wood figure of Sir Isaac Newton
modelled standing in contraposto, a telescope in one hand, his other hand drawing back a drape which partly covers a celestial globe atop a stack of books from which protrudes a manuscript moulded with a comet and inscribed 1680, set on a rectangular-section marbleised base, enriched in colours and gilt, impressed 137 to one side of the base -- 12in. (30.3cm.) high, circa 1785-1800

It is noted that that figure is impressed Ra. Wood Burslem and in common with this figure it also carries the impressed number 137
