also known as 'Eloquence' and 'St. Paul Preaching At Athens', the classically-draped figure modelled in the action of giving a speech, one hand outstretched, the plinth at his side moulded with a panel of Mercury in flight over clouds and applied with a manuscript, enriched in colours, the base marbleised -- 19in. (48.2cm.) high, circa 1800
