LATE 17TH/EARLY 18TH CENTURY, PROBABLY PORTUGUESE
Worked in coloured silks and metal threads, with a central cartouche applied with a chalice and 'IHS', within scrolling foliage and flowers, parrots and peacocks perched amidst the branches, the border worked with meandering floral vines, the lower border trimmed with knotted tassels in coloured silks
