Lot Essay

This ingenious Gillow design first appeared in the firm's General Sketch Book of 1810 and remained in production for the next thirty years. Variations are shown in Gillows' Estimate Sketch Books, folio 3310, dated December 1823, and folio 5268, dated August 1839.
