A gray schist bust of a bodhisattva
Gandhara, 2nd/3rd century
Dressed in an open sanghati with the hem draped over his shoulder, the muscular chest adorned with large necklaces, the face with prominent nose, heavy-lidded eyes, and recessed urna flanked by round earrings, the hair in wavy locks cascading down to his shoulders and secured in a topknot with an elaborate beaded headband
