Tibeto-Chinese, 18th century
The Buddha seated in dhyanasana on a lotus base over a lion throne, his hands in dharmachakramudra and wearing heavy patchwork robes, the face with serene downcast expression flanked by pendulous earlobes and backed by a nimbus, surmounted by an aureole with makaras and Garuda and flanked by two attendant figures holding bowls and fly whisks, with a group of lamas below, all set within a watery landscape
