A porcelain sake bottle
Hizen ware, Edo period (late 17th century)
The stout, pear-shaped bottle with a slender, upright neck, decorated on the top half in underglaze blue with a wide band of underglaze iron oxide beneath a glossy transparent glaze just below the middle and with a line of underglaze blue above the foot, two thin underglaze-blue bands encircling the foot
