The box decorated in gold, black, red and brown hiramaki-e, takamaki-e and inlaid mother-of-pearl with paired hawks, peacocks, mandarin ducks and monkeys on a black ground, stylized cloud patterns to the edges, set on a stand with four feet with geometric patterns
