A WHITE JADE SCABBARD SLIDE
18TH/19TH CENTURY
Of rectangular form with rounded sides, the scabbard slide is carved in shallow relief on the top with S-scrolls framed within two connecting shaped panels terminating in a stylized taotie mask. Together with a pale greyish and russet jade scabbard slide, Ming dynasty, and a white and russet jade thumb ring, 18th/19th century.
Scabbard slides 2 7/8 and 3 7/16 in. (7.3 and 8.6 cm.) long; thumb ring 1 1/8 in. (2.9 cm.) diam. (3)
