A CARVED PINK TOURMALINE SNUFF BOTTLE
1850-1920
The flattened bottle has broad shoulders which taper to the oval foot ring and is intricately carved with a continuous scene of a mountainous landscape incorporating a fisherman in a boat, a lone sage traversing a rocky path amidst willow and pine trees, pavilions, and a footbridge spanning a waterfall. The translucent stone is of deep pink color.
