THREE CAMEO AGATE SNUFF BOTTLES AND A SILHOUETTE AGATE SNUFF BOTTLE
OFFICIAL SCHOOL, 1740-1850
The first bottle is of honey tone and is cleverly carved utilizing the darker markings on one side with a saddled horse tethered to a post. The second bottle is also of honey tone and is carved with a bird on one side using the amber and brown markings. The third bottle is of pale grey tone and is carved utilizing the rich green markings with a grasshopper resting atop the leaves of a bok choy, while the reverse is carved with a bird amidst stalks of bamboo. The fourth bottle is also of pale grey tone and carved using the sparse dark brown markings with a continuous scene of figures at various pursuits in a continuous landscape.
Largest 2 9/16 in. (6.5 cm.) high, coral, jadeite, agate and glass stoppers (4)
