TWO GLASS SNUFF BOTTLES
1750-1850
The four-color overlay amber glass bottle, 1750-1850, is carved through the red, green, blue and peach-color overlays with flowering plants growing from rocky earth. The shoulders are carved on either side with a butterfly in flight. The famille rose-enameled blue glass bottle, Imperial, attributed to the Palace Workshops, Beijing, 1760-1780, is enameled on one side with a crane in flight above a lotus pond. The reverse is enameled with two bats in flight above lingzhi growing from pierced rockwork.
2 3/16 and 2 1/8 in. (5.5 and 5.4 cm.) high, coral and glass stoppers (2)
