A GILT-BRONZE BOMBE CENSER
18TH CENTURY
The censer is of compressed, bombé form and is cast with upper and lower lappet bands between the beaded borders on the rim and foot. It is flanked by a pair of lion-mask handles. The base shows remnants of gold splashes and is cast with a 12-character inscription reading Xuande ernian Zhou Yi wei Xiuquan zhuren zhi (made for Xiuquan zhuren (master) by Zhou Yi in the second year of Xuande).
