THE ELEMENTS, 18TH/19TH CENTURY
The lattice-work that makes up the three-panel railing is of angular form and surrounds the mat seat, which is enclosed within a rectangular frame. The waist is recessed above a beaded and curvilinear apron that is carved in relief with entwining and scrolling grasses. The legs are of solid construction terminating in hoofed feet.
