A PAIR OF SANCAI-GLAZED POTTERY FIGURES OF HORSES
TANG DYNASTY (618-907)
Each stands foursquare on an unglazed plinth, with its head raised and facing left, and the mane falling to one side of the neck. The well-proportioned body is covered in a cream-colored glaze, with the head, mane, and tail decorated in a yellowish-amber glaze, and the cinched saddle cloth in an olive-green glaze.
