A WUCAI 'DRAGON AND PHOENIX' BOWL
DAOGUANG SEAL MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-1850)
The deep, rounded sides rise to a slightly everted rim and are decorated on the exterior with a green and an iron-red dragon separated by descending phoenixes as they pursue flaming pearls amidst flower meander below a narrow band of the bajixiang joined to ruyi motifs. Another iron-red dragon is shown leaping amidst green flames as it reaches for a flaming pearl in the center of the interior.
