The rectangular top with egg-and-dart moulded edge above two cupboard doors inlaid in première partie with a foliate canopy centred by figures emblematic of Winter and Spring, within a floral ormolu surround and with corner mounts to the doors, with a Greek-key central divide with female mask, the interior fitted with three shelves, the sides centred by a bearded mask, on a rectangular plinth with gadrooned edge, on bun feet surmounted by a rosette

This cabinet is by Mathieu Befort, dit Befort Jeune. The upright sides, visible when the top is removed, are variously stamped BEFORT JEUNE.
