Lot Essay

Constructed in 1878 in Musquash, New Brunswick, The Hannah Blanchard was a three masted sailing ship that made nine north Atlantic crossings. The red flag on the rear halyard is a red Canadian ensign was used as early as 1868 until 1965 when it was replaced with the maple leaf flag we know today.
