Lot Essay

The present table relates to a design by A.W.N. Pugin dated 1849 with similar triangular formation supports. This table of 'knock-down' construction was of the type always kept in stock by Crace for its ease of assembly (see. C. Gere and M. Whiteway, 19th Century Design From Pugin to Mackintosh, London, 1994, pl. 38.).
