The reeded rectangular top above turned supports on concealed brown porcelain castors with a depository label for 'Brothers Petroleum Ltd./Poplar House, Dunfield,/Fairford, Glos. GL7 4HE' on the underside

Lot Essay

This table is of the same design as one owned by William Morris, and used in his study at Kelmscott House, Hammersmith. Another table of this design was used in the Tapestry Room of Morris's house in Oxfordshire.
