COLD AND COOL; AVIATION DESIGN A recent craze in Interior design is the fashion for furniture and decoration made from recycled aviation parts. Chromium plated steel and aluminium parts from vintage aircraft can transform an interior to a cool modernist looking style. The style combines industrial architecture with the aero-dynamic forms of the aviation industry. The set of propellers for example combine aero-dynamic form with smooth plates of rivetted aluminium. The three lots in the sale all using parts form an Armstrong Whitworth Argosy transport plane (lots 375, 384, 385.) show imagination to transform machinery into something useful with a cutting edge style.
