THE FIRST DATED '1714', THE SECOND IN 18TH CENTURY STYLE
The first composite, with characteristic double-edged blade with short fuller on each side at the forte with faint traces of etched dated inscription, iron hilt comprising short quillons, rebounded leather-covered grip with tassel, and writhen iron pommel; the second decorative, with characteristic double-edged blade etched with inscriptions, foliage, a gibbet and a wheel-of-justice, cast brass hilt decorated with foliage and trophies of arms, and leather-covered grip
Respectively 31½in. (80cm.) and 35 1/8in. (89.2cm.) blades (2)
