SIGNED LE COMTE A CHATEAUDUN, THIRD QUARTER OF THE 18TH CENTURY
With blued octagonal to rounded sighted barrel struck at the breech with two small fleur-de-lys and a makers stamp, the initials 'IB' crowned, engraved tang, signed flat bevelled lock engraved with a martial trophy on the stepped tail, figured walnut full stock carved in low relief with foliage around the mounts, the comb with applied velvet-covered cheek-pad, and engraved iron mounts including trigger-guard with urn finial, the barrel retaining some original blued finish (ramrod missing, fore-end cracked, some discolouration and surface corrosion to iron parts)
