EARLY 19TH CENTURY
With swamped two-stage barrel with chiselled girdle and stamped on the octagonal breech-section with a maker's mark and three small crosses, iron tang, flat bevelled lock signed 'MRA. RLE. DI NAPOLI ' (Der Neue Støckel 8676) and with rounded tail and brass priming-pan, figured walnut full stock with chequered butt, engraved brass mounts including butt-cap decorated with a trophy-of-arms, and later brass-tipped ramrod; together with AN ITALIAN 40-BORE SILVER-MOUNTED FLINTLOCK OVERCOAT PISTOL, LATE 18TH CENTURY, with two-stage octagonal to polygonal barrel with pronounced ring at the muzzle and inlaid with silver foliage inhabited by a bird on the breech, scroll engraved flat bevelled lock with waterproof priming-pan and stepped-tail, figured walnut full stock carved with scrollwork behind the barrel-tang, scroll engraved silver mounts, and later wooden ramrod
