With swamped sighted barrels each signed on the sighting-flat and chiselled in low relief with a differing classical warrior, scrollwork and a martial trophy at the breech, foliate engraved tangs, flat bevelled locks each finely chiselled in low relief with trophies of arms and a further classical figure, moulded figured walnut full stocks each with folaite carving behind the barrel-tang and rear ramrod-pipe, cast and chased gilt-brass mounts decorated with trophies of arms and further classical figures, the butt-caps each with a monster-head and trophy of arms involving bound captives, and later horn-tipped ramrods

Lot Essay
Arnold Niquet, also known as 'Le Jeune' (Junior) was born in the 1670s and is recorded as working on Rue du Faucon between 1734 and 1736. It is thought he was active until circa 1750.
