A Swiss pewter wine flagon, 'Stegkanne'
Abraham Ganting, Bern, third quarter 18th Century
The pear-shaped body turned and moulded with concentric bands and chased with birds and flowers and engraved P.I.FR., applied with octagonal spout with hinged spout cover, joined to the neck by a stylized human arm, the hinged cover struck with maker's mark AG
27 cm. high x 24.5 cm. long x 11.5 cm. diam.
Together with a pewter dish, probably English, 18th Century - 46 cm. diam. (2)
