HENRI MOSER-CHARLOTTENFELS (1844-1923)
Armes et Armures Orientales. Leipzig: Karl W. Hiersemann, 1912. 2° (514 x 410mm). 45 lithographed plates, 10 of these chromolithographs, illustrations. (Title lightly spotted, margins lightly yellowed.) Contemporary red half leather over marbled boards (spine caps repaired, extremities rubbed).
FIRST EDITION. NUMBER 83 OF 100 COPIES IN FRENCH, from an edition of 300 copies only. This copy includes 45 rather than the usual 44 lithographs: the additional chromolithograph reproducing a leaf of manuscript from the Gulistan of Sa'di showing the line 'our aim is to produce a work that outlives us' -- a line which Moser uses on his title page.
